Welcome to Oak Grove Memorial Park in Oak Grove

About Us

In 2005 we were given the opportunity to build a park for our community. The park is located on the site of the original Oak Grove Elementary and High School that was destroyed on April 8, 1998 by the F-5 tornado that devastated the western area of Jefferson County. The schools were moved to a new larger location and we have the opportunity to develop a facility that is not available in this part of the county. The Board was formed, incorporated and approved by the Jefferson County Commission in August 2005.

Long range plans for the Park will include a football field, baseball field, playground, walking track, basketball court, tennis court, pavilions and a recreation center. The Park is a Memorial dedicated to the memory of the school, students, staff and community and will benefit over 12,500 residents in this area.

We have met many of our original goals but have a long way to go to complete our vision of the park we envision for our community.

We are in the process of raising funds for a wonderful playground for our park.  The playground on our wish list will cost around $100,000.00.  We have been awarded grants for $30,000.00.  We need your help to build a playground that will delight children for many years to come.

Phase I of the playground is installed.  Come out and PLAY.
