💣 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT 💣
The Board of Directors of Oak Grove Memorial Park would like to announce with great anticipation that we’ve entered into an agreement with Jefferson County Board of Education to use the fantastic new facilities at Oak Grove High School for Oak Grove Youth Football and Cheer 2023 and 2024 season.
ITS A GREAT DAY TO BE A TIGER!!!!! 🐯
In 2005 we were given the opportunity to build a park for our community. The park is located on the site of the original Oak Grove Elementary and High School that was destroyed on April 8, 1998 by the F-5 tornado that devastated the western area of Jefferson County. The schools were moved to a new larger location and we have the opportunity to develop a facility that is not available in this part of the county. The Board was formed, incorporated and approved by the Jefferson County Commission in August 2005.
Long range plans for the Park will include a football field, baseball field, playground, walking track, basketball court, tennis court, pavilions and a recreation center. The Park is a Memorial dedicated to the memory of the school, students, staff and community and will benefit over 12,500 residents in this area.
We have met many of our original goals but have a long way to go to complete our vision of the park we envision for our community.
The Football Field was reconditioned a Concession Stand with bathrooms and a Press Box were completed and we have temporary bleachers. This was completed with donations we have received from the Jefferson County Commission and individuals in our community. The football field and concession stand is used primarily by the Oak Grove Youth Football league.
In addition to the football program we also a baseball field, walking track, lighting for the football field and phase I of the playground were completed.
The pavilion was completed in 2013 and the Memorial Gazebo in 2015.
If you would like to Reserve the Pavilion or Gazebo for your event please contact Renee Alley (205)907-7255. There is a reservation fee of $40.00 each or $75.00 for both.
